Surendra Dangol, 39, is shot and killed.

December 26, 2009

A clerk at the Tedeschi’s Food Shop at 783 Centre Street and legal immigrant, Dengol lived in rooming house and worked two jobs to try to earn enough money to bring his wife and nine-year-old daughter to America from Nepal. He is shot even though he handed over the cash register’s full contents of $746. Police arrest the alleged robber, a 63-year-old Hyde Park resident, who had recently been released from prison after serving more than 30 years in prison for killing a New Hampshire store owner in 1971.
